How it works
- You join a free 20 min Zoom call to see whether we are a fit
- During sessions I collaborate with you to see what you need

About your coach
I am a certified trauma informed coach with 10+ years of experience and a background in Nonviolent Communication and EFT tapping. Over the past years I’ve worked with thousands of people from all over the world.
I used to suffer from burnout and depressions and was people pleasing a lot. After learning about NVC and a few other modalities I started to stand up for myself, deepened my relationships and have not had burnout and depression since.
I can’t wait to support you in creating a deeper relationship with yourself and others, and more wellbeing as a result.
The methods I use:
Empathic listening based on Nonviolent Communication: when I listen to you with the tools of NVC, it helps you to go out of your head, away from self judgment and anxiety, and creates a safe space to face truths around what patterns you have adopted and how they might no longer serve you. NVC is excellent at detecting what stories we tell ourselves and I seem to have a knack for finding sneaky false beliefs that may sabotage you. With the method of deep empathic listening we can also access the parts of your body that holds all the wisdom about what you are truly needing.
EFT tapping makes use of certain points on our face and upper body that connect with the nervous system and help it be regulated when tapped. I guide you in tapping those points so that your nervous system can feel safe with new beliefs about yourself. Our nervous system may normally resist new beliefs and new behaviors, as it is geared towards repeating what is familiar, not necessarily what is healthy. We help it to feel safe with healthy habits and pleasant feelings, so we can safely remove any blocks you may have around moving towards your dream goals.

FAQ
Do I need to know NVC or EFT before we start?
There is no prior knowledge or preparation needed. I guide everything.
How many sessions will I need?
I’d say the average amount of sessions people take with me is 5-7. For some people, one session is enough. Some people take 10. You don’t have to already know, we can discuss more in the intake.
What’s the difference between this and therapy?
Similarities with therapy:

We explore where patterns come from (often early experiences)

There is room for grief, fear, shame, anger, and any other feelings

You get emotional support in a safe space
Different from most therapies:
Clinical therapists are often trained to treat certain severe mental illnesses that I’m not trained to treat. I will always discuss and refer you if needed.
Additionally, most therapies focus on returning to baseline functioning. The way I do sessions is also focused on how to help you thrive beyond that, and help you work towards a future vision for your life.
Can we talk about ANY topic, or only NVC-related conflicts?
Any topic is welcome. I’ve supported with addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, loneliness and sexual abuse. I’ve also supported with: deciding how to have a more joyful Christmas, finding a household schedule that works, adding more fun hobbies to your life, and creating a dating profile :-). So yes, ANY topic is welcome.
What happens in a session?
Elements that are part of most sessions:

A check in: how are you doing, how do you feel about having a session?

Exploring what you need out of this particular session

Asking you guiding questions to see what you think, feel and need about an issue.

Using EFT tapping to regulate the nervous system and rewire the brain for new beliefs.

Thinking about how to practically handle upcoming events or dialogues.

Doing role-play for upcoming dialogues or for closure with people who you aren’t able or willing to talk with.
Every step is decided in collaboration with you. I offer a structure, so you don’t need to be concerned about not knowing what to say or do.
Can I be/Do I have to be super emotional in the session?
Some people fear crying or being overwhelmed in a session.
Others fear not being ’emotional enough.’
You can show up exactly as you are during my sessions. There is no pushing to be any other way.
What if I get stuck or don’t know what to say?
I guide the whole process. I have worked with people who are shy or simply need time to find words. I’m very patient with that 🙂
Is online just as effective as in-person?
Yes, I find that it is. I mainly need to see your face and hear your voice in order to tune in with where you are. With that, I can guide you safely and you can receive all the benefits.
Can we work on a relationship issue even if my partner doesn’t join?
Yes, and sometimes it’s even more effective! We can discuss more about this during the free intake.
What if I’m not sure yet or just want to see if we’re a fit?
During the free intake you can experience a bit of me and you are free to decide after that whether you’d like to join. I don’t push people during an intake to join, no sales talk or anything, I trust that you will know. You can also check some of my Youtube videos to get a sense of my vibe (check newer ones because I’ve grown quite a bit since I started 10 years ago!).
How soon are you available?
That really depends – send me a quick email to check if things are urgent for you at info@cupofempathy.com.
Do you give homework or things to practice?
Only if you want. If we use EFT tapping, I usually record that, and it’s recommended to repeat listening to it. Most people don’t see that as work because it’s quite relaxing. Most recordings are around 15 minutes.
Can I book just one session to solve a specific issue?
Absolutely, that happens a lot.
What if I’m already doing therapy or another type of guidance — can I combine it?
Yes, that is very common; many people do that.
Do you have experience working with neurodivergent people?
Yes I do. We can explore during the intake how your neurodivergence shows up, and adjust accordingly.
Do you have experience working with gay/trans/nonbinary/Black/brown people?
I do. Plus I have extensive training in how to work in an inclusive way and guide with themes related to LGBTQIA+, racism, and sexism. That said, I always want to know you and how these themes show up for you specifically.
I can‘t afford this. What’s my best option?
If this package is a bit out of your budget, check out group sessions. You still get live support from me in those, just in a small group setting. If you’re coming from a low-income background, we offer scholarships for the group sessions as well.
